COMMUNITY CHESTS

HVDA administers several funding streams, to which Community and Voluntary Groups in Hartlepool can apply.


The Working Neighbourhoods Fund (WNF) Community Chest

The WNF Community Chest provides up to £2000 for voluntary and community groups and aims to encourage greater involvement by residents in local activities and to help groups improve their local neighbourhoods.

Applications should either be from groups operating in the Neighbourhood Renewal (NR) areas of Hartlepool or be able to demonstrate that 50% of the beneficiaries are resident in the NR areas.

The NDC Community Chest

The New Deal for Communities (NDC) Community Chest is intended to provide a flexible and responsive resource that will be used to support small-scale community initiatives.  The objective is to help to improve the quality of life of New Deal for Communities area residents and to support individuals residing in the NDC area in their pursuit of personal achievement.  Groups can apply for up to £500 per year and individuals can apply for up to £200 per year.

Public Health Grants Scheme

The PCT Public Health Grants Scheme has been set up to complement the Public Health Strategy for Hartlepool and covers a range of areas: healthy eating, physical activity, smoking, prevention of substance misuse, sexual health, teenage pregnancy, obesity, accident prevention (children and adults) and mental wellbeing.  Any funding applications must contribute to, and add value to, work in these areas.

Community Cohesion Fund
 
The Community Cohesion Fund has been set up to encourage greater cross cultural, cross community (communities of interest and geographical) and intergenerational activities to encourage meaningful interactions between people from different backgrounds.  Grants of up to £5,000 can be awarded for single projects or activities.  The maximum award per group in any one year is £5,000.

Due to the high volume of applications this Fund has been suspended for 2010/11, however please continue to visit this website for updates.
