PCT Funding
HVDA has worked in partnership with Hartlepool PCT’s Directorate of Public Health to identify the funding needs of the VCS, specifically in relation to those schemes which contribute to health outcomes. As a result Hartlepool Primary Care Trust (PCT) have agreed to provide financial support to a number of Voluntary and Community Sector (VCS) groups in the current financial year, totalling £306k.
Much of the contribution is in relation to public health and improving the lives of people with long term health conditions. The following groups are to benefit from PCT funding ADDvance; Deaf Autistic Disabled Advocacy; Epilepsy Outlook; Grange Road Resource Centre; Hart Gables; Hartlepool & District Dyspraxia Support Group; Hartlepool Bereavement Service; Hartlepool Blind Welfare Association; Hartlepool Carers; Hartlepool Deaf Centre; Hartlepool PATCH; Hartlepool Special Needs Support Group; Headland Future Ltd; Making a Difference; Manor Residents Association; Owton Manor West Neighbourhood Watch & Residents Association; Parents in Need of Support; RESPECT Counselling and Mentoring; Solid Rock Youth Café; The Albert Centre; West View Advice and Resource Centre; West View Project.
The PCT and the Council have commissioned consultants to draft a Voluntary Sector Strategy. The aim is to move towards developing a strategic framework to commissioning the VCS.
