Theme Partnership Update—Children and Young People
Dave Wise, one of the Community Network’s Theme Partnership Children and Young People Representatives gave the following update: “The Children’s Trust meets every 3 months to receive reports and discuss developments within Hartlepool’s Diverse Children’s Programmes. Issues discussed included recently outcome based Accountability, Hidden Harm Strategy, Young Person Substance Misuse, Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service, New Funding Opportunities as well as receiving presentations from young people on Participation. The Trust has become more aware recently that young people should have the opportunity to have their voice heard and listened to by the Trust. Probably one of the most important items for discussion recently was the Transforming Schools Programme, which lead to the closure of Brierton and the re-development of all our other Senior Schools. We have also had long discussions as to the re-development of all Junior Schools in town”.
