MORI Survey Results

The MORI Survey 2008—a household survey carried out in Hartlepool on behalf of Hartlepool Partnership and New Deal for Communities was completed in 2008 with the findings being publicised in February 2009. Survey results showed:

  • More than two in five Hartlepool Borough residents (44%) say that there is a lot of community spirit in their area and this is consistent across the more disadvantaged areas and wider Hartlepool.
  • Over half of Hartlepool Borough residents (52%) say they feel a part of the local community.
  • One in four (23%) residents in Hartlepool Borough feel they can influence decisions that affect their area.
  • Overall, two in five of Hartlepool Borough residents (43%) say that they have given help to someone who is not a relative in the last twelve months.

The Survey presents some interesting facts about how local people view Hartlepool as a place to live and the services which are on offer. The Survey can be used as a useful tool for Voluntary/Community Sector Groups with funding bids in terms of providing evidence of need.
