Community Network Awards

At the Hartlepool Voluntary Development Agency’s Awards Ceremony held on 26 May 2009, three recipients were members of the Community Network who have been actively involved over the past year.  They were nominated by fellow members.  The awards were presented by John Potts, Hartlepool Partnership to the following, the reason they were nominated are outlined below:

Brenda Loynes – Brenda is relatively new to the Network and has grown in confidence over the last year. Despite being a relative newcomer, Brenda has become a prominent member of the Network and is now a Steering Group Member. Her growing confidence allows her to raise issues brought to her from other concerned residents – this is particularly evident at the Central Neighbourhood Forum and Resident Representative meetings.

Mary Power – to particularly thank her for the many years she has been volunteering. Mary is passionate about her area and has the confidence to ensure residents views are aired at a range of Forums.  Mary is a member of the Community Network Steering Group and the Working Neighbourhoods Fund Grants Panel.

Joan Steel – Joan is a Resident Representative from the North area of town and attends the Children’s Scrutiny Forum.  She adds value to any meeting she attends, ensuring her wealth of knowledge and experience promotes debate and discussion. Her contributions are always reflective of the wider community and her personal quality of diplomacy allows her to air these views in a constructive manner.
