‘Have your say and make a difference in YOUR Town’

The Community Network will hold various elections at the 17 November 2009 Meeting.  This is YOUR opportunity to have an influence on specific issues in Hartlepool.  You can become involved in the in the following areas:

Theme Partnerships:

Representatives ensure that residents’ grassroots opinions are fed into the local decision-making process. 

Children & Young People’s Strategic Partnership The Children & Young People’s Strategic Partnership focuses on achieving the five national outcomes for Children through closely aligned with age specific partnerships.  It oversees Children’s Centres, Extended Schools and the Children’s Strategy.   

Culture, Leisure and Community Learning Partnership—It aims to ensure a wide range of good quality, affordable and accessible leisure and cultural opportunities. 

Health and Wellbeing Partnership and Executive—It aims to ensure access to the highest quality health, social care and support services aimed at improving the health, life expectancy and well-being of the community. 

Environment Partnership—It aims to secure a more attractive and sustainable environment that is safe, clean and tidy. 

Hartlepool Economic Forum—It aims to develop a more enterprising, vigorous and diverse local economy that will attract investment, be globally competitive and create more employment opportunities for local people. 

Housing Partnership—It aims to jointly assess and meet the housing needs of Hartlepool. 

Hartlepool Skills Partnership—It aims to help all individuals, groups and organisations to realise their full potential; ensure the highest quality opportunities in education, lifelong learning and training and raise standards of attainment. 

Safer Hartlepool Partnership—It aims to reduce crime and the fear of crime for example including specific initiatives to tackle drug abuse.     

Community Network Steering Group This group oversees and sets the priorities of the Community Network.  The group receives quarterly reports and discusses issues around improving voluntary sector and resident involvement in decision–making. 

Working Neighbourhoods Fund Grants Panel This group makes decisions on grants of up to £2k for local groups who organise community based activities; funds are also allocated to enhance the skills of residents involved in local groups.
