Funding News

The Public Health Grant Scheme has been set up by Hartlepool Primary Care Trust to encourage and enable voluntary and community sector groups to undertake small projects that will contribute to tackling a range of health issues that have been identified as priorities and are targeted at improving lifestyle and health inequalities.  Grants of between £500 and £5,000 which will be administered by HVDA can be awarded for single projects or activities that are in line with the Hartlepool Public Health Strategy.  Details of the Health Strategy can be found on the Hartlepool Partnership website (www.hartlepoolpartnership.co.uk) and following the link to the Health & Wellbeing Partnership.

The Primary Care Trust have also allocated £50,000 to the Community Activities Network for physical activity within Hartlepool. Grants of £2,000 to £50,000 are available and applications are open to anyone who feels they have a project which will address any gap in existing sport and physical activity provision. All applications need to be discussed with the physical activity theme lead (Zoe Rayson - tel 284174) and the deadline for all applications is the 22nd August 2008 at 4pm for decision to be made at the next Steering Group meeting on the 18th September. The application and supporting documentation can be downloaded from www.hartlepool.gov.uk/HartlepoolCAN
